Happy New Year, Treasurers!  As I’m sure you all know, P.E.O. dues time is upon us, and annual report season is just around the corner. Below are some important reminders and tips: 

Dues: Notices should be sent out right away if not already. Dues should be paid by early February and received no later than March 1. Give yourself and your chapter time to follow up with any sisters who have not yet paid and decide whether your chapter wants to pay or advance her dues. Remember that our goal is ZERO new inactive members: we do not want to lose any of our sisters!  

Philanthropy: If you have any lump sum donations of $500 or more that your chapter is planning (for any of the project special designations), those are supposed to be received by me, D.C. Treasurer Heather Anderson, by January 31 for recognition this year. If the lump sum donation is to IPS to be a Partners in Peace chapter, you must also submit a special form for that (emailed to you on Jan 8) along with your check and regular transmittal form. If you are sending one of these donations, please also email me to let me know. I can give a couple days grace period on the deadline if I know it’s coming.

It’s time to get ready for the online annual reports process! P.E.O. International is putting out a training video for chapter treasurers, corresponding secretaries, and presidents, which will be available on the International website starting Feb. 1. It is probably about an hour long. Please make plans to watch this training at your earliest convenience so you have time to follow up with me and/or International if you have further questions. You should plan to watch the training even if you are a returning officer, since the process will be a little different (improved!) this year.

The actual portal for completing the annual reports will open on March 1, and the reports must be fully completed by March 10.  The treasurers complete their portion of the reports first, followed by the corresponding secretaries and finally the presidents. So again, treasurers please look at your calendars now and block out some time in the first few days of March to complete your chapter’s annual reports.  We want to give our fellow officers time to complete their portions before the March 10 deadline. The D.C. board will not be holding an “Annual Forms Workshop” at a fixed day and time this year as we have done in the past, but I will be available throughout that early March period to assist by email, phone, or in-person, as needed.
